Estimates for comparison. Your optician or lab will confirm final thickness.
The short version
- Results are estimates from a simplified model.
- They are not medical advice.
- Prism and reading additions (ADD) are not included.
- Your optician or lab confirms the final thickness.
This summary is part of the policy. The full text below is the legal version.
1. What the estimates are
The tool works out how thick a lens is likely to be for the numbers you enter, using published geometry and typical defaults. Real lenses differ by a few tenths of a millimetre because each lab chooses its own blanks, surfaces and minimum thicknesses.
2. What is not included
- Prism and reading additions (ADD). Varifocals and prism can add thickness. Enter your distance numbers and ask your optician.
- Wrap-around frames with strong curve. Treat results as a rough guide.
- Each lab's own lens blanks and coatings.
The method is explained on How it works and checked against real lenses on Measured lenses.
3. Not medical advice
The tool does not diagnose anything and is not a substitute for an eye test or advice from an optician or doctor.
4. Your optician decides
Choose lenses, frames and fitting with your optician. Take your result image to them if it helps the conversation.
