How we measure

  • Lenses are ordered as normal retail jobs from [lab names] and glazed into the frame listed.
  • Thickness is measured with a [gauge model] lens thickness gauge (±0.05 mm), three readings, averaged.
  • Edge: we sweep the whole edge and record the thickest reading. Plus lenses: centre at the optical centre.
  • Predictions use the engine version live on the day; we keep old rows when the engine changes.
  • Measurements at Ain Optics, our founder's store, are marked so you can weigh them.
